Solar charge controllers in India

Engineered and manufactured in India by IIT alumni — for LiFePO4, Li-ion & lead acid systems.

In simple words: a charge controller is the device that sits between your solar panel and your battery. It controls how the battery is charged — so your costly battery stays healthy and lasts for years instead of failing early.

Size your system, then pick the controller

Every installation is different. Tell us your battery bank, your panels and your battery type — this tool works out the charging current you will actually get, how long a charge will take, and which Systellar controller fits. It checks the whole range, including the models we build to order.

Your system

Start from a typical system, then adjust:
The nominal voltage of the battery bank the controller will charge.
Chemistry sets the charging voltage and how much of the bank you can safely use.
Ah
Total capacity at the bank voltage above. Needed for the charging-time estimate.
Wp
nos.
Wattage of one panel, then how many panels. Printed on the label on the back of the panel.
Also on the panel label, as Voc. This is what decides how many panels can go in a series string.
Leave on automatic and we will suggest the safest wiring for each controller.

These figures are a sizing estimate from the numbers you entered. Send them to us and we will confirm the exact model, the wiring layout and any accessories you need — free of charge, before you buy. We design and manufacture every controller here in India, so we can also build to a specification you cannot find off the shelf.

How these numbers are worked out
  • Charging current = array watts × MPPT conversion efficiency ÷ battery charging voltage, then capped at the controller's rated current. PWM controllers cannot step voltage down, so they are modelled on panel current instead — which is why they harvest less from the same array.
  • Charging voltage per 12 V block: LiFePO4 14.6 V · Li-ion/NMC 12.6 V · lead-acid 14.4 V.
  • Usable capacity: 80% of rated Ah for lithium, 50% for lead-acid — the depth of discharge each chemistry tolerates without shortening its life.
  • Charging efficiency: 97% lithium, 85% lead-acid (lead-acid loses more to heat and gassing near the top of the charge).
  • Real-world derate: 80% of nameplate array output for irradiance, panel temperature, dust and cable loss. "Good sun" means roughly 4.5 peak-sun-hours a day, a fair all-India annual average.
  • The string has to clear a floor as well as a ceiling. Ceiling: panel Voc is highest on a cold, clear morning, so we multiply string Voc by 1.10 and require it to stay under the controller's input limit — that is the moment a controller gets damaged, not midday. Floor: Vmp falls about 16% as a panel heats to rooftop temperature, and an MPPT is a step-down converter, so if hot Vmp drops below the battery's charging voltage it simply stops charging on the hottest afternoons. We therefore require string Voc at rating to be at least 1.45 × the charging voltage for MPPT, and 1.15 × for PWM, which has no converter and only needs its Voc to clear the battery.
  • Wiring is chosen as the longest series string that fits that window and divides your panel count evenly — fewer parallel strings means less current, thinner cable and lower losses. If no even split fits, we say so rather than quietly recommending unequal strings.
  • Figures are indicative. Site shading, panel orientation, cable runs and battery age all move the result.

MPPT solar charge controller comparison

Four MPPT models cover every off-grid system we serve, from a single 12V battery to a 120V industrial bank. You can see MPPT-HV-50A (IGBT based) model for higher battery bank voltages. Work down from your battery bank voltage and array size — those two figures decide the controller, and everything else follows. Scroll the table sideways to see all four models. Full specifications for every model, including our PWM range and prices, are further down this page.

Choosing a current rating: divide your total panel wattage by your battery bank voltage. If the result is under 25, the 25A model is enough; between 25 and 50, choose the 50A model. Size the panel string so its open-circuit voltage stays below the controller limit at the coldest temperature your site sees.

MPPT Solar Charge Controller Range

MPPT & PWM Solar Charge Controllers in India — 12V to 240V | LiFePO4, Li-ion & Lead Acid

India’s Most Advanced MPPT Solar Charge Controllers — Engineered for Indian Conditions.

A solar charge controller is the brain of any off-grid or hybrid solar power system. Its primary job is to regulate the voltage and current flowing from your solar panels to your batteries — protecting them from overcharging, deep discharge, and reverse current flow. Get it wrong and your ₹20,000 battery bank fails in two years. Get it right and your system runs reliably for a decade. Systellar Innovations, founded by IIT alumni and ISO 9001:2015 certified, manufactures MPPT and PWM solar charge controllers in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh — the heart of North India. Our controllers support every battery chemistry in common use today: LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate), Lithium-ion, Lead Acid (Flat Cell, Tubular, Gel, SMF), and Nickel Cadmium. Battery voltages range from 12V to 240V with charging currents from 2A (IoT) to 75A (Gen6 industrial). Every unit is designed and assembled in-house with zero dependency on imported sub-systems.

Systellar Innovations is headquartered in Uttar Pradesh — giving us an inherent advantage in servicing North India’s solar market. We understand the dust, heat, and power-cut conditions specific to UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi NCR, and the Himalayan foothills. Our controllers are rated for ambient temperatures from 0°C to 45°C and humidity up to 95%, and are designed for indoor, well-ventilated mounting — conditions that routinely challenge controllers built for milder climates. For system integrators, contractors, and end-users across North and Central India, we offer the fastest turnaround on orders, technical support in Hindi, and bulk pricing directly from the factory.

Solar charge controller FAQ

Solar charge controller — common questions

What is a solar charge controller?

A solar charge controller regulates the voltage and current flowing from your solar panels into the battery bank. It prevents overcharging, over-discharge and reverse current at night, protecting the battery and drawing the most usable energy from your panels. Systellar manufactures both MPPT and PWM solar charge controllers for 12V to 240V systems.

MPPT vs PWM — which solar charge controller should I choose?

An MPPT controller tracks the panel’s maximum power point and typically harvests 15–30% more energy, which suits larger systems or any setup where panel voltage is higher than battery voltage. A PWM controller is a simpler, lower-cost choice for small, voltage-matched systems. See our full MPPT vs PWM solar charge controller comparison.

What size (how many amps) solar charge controller do I need?

Divide your total panel wattage by the battery voltage to get the charging current, then add about 25% headroom. For example, 600W of panels on a 12V battery works out to roughly 50A. Our range spans 2A to 75A across 12V, 24V, 48V and high-voltage banks — or use the Help me choose tool above.

How much does a solar charge controller cost in India?

Price depends on the type (PWM vs MPPT), current rating and battery voltage. Systellar supplies everything from budget PWM units to high-current 75A MPPT and high-voltage models; four models are available to buy online and the rest on request. Share your specs for a quote, with bulk pricing on orders of 10 units or more.

Which MPPT solar charge controller is best for a 12V, 24V or 48V system?

For compact 12V–48V systems the CC-MPPT-Compact (25A/50A) and CC-MPPT-Gen6 (50A/75A) are popular choices; for high-voltage battery banks up to 240V, see the CC-MPPT-HV-50A.

Do you supply solar charge controllers across India?

Yes. Systellar is an Indian manufacturer (Made in India, IIT-alumni founded) supplying homes, businesses, industrial and OEM buyers nationwide, with bulk pricing for 10+ units.

Not sure which controller you need?

Tell us your battery voltage, panel wattage and battery type — we’ll recommend the right model and send a quote, with bulk pricing for orders of 10 units or more.
