VentPlus Smart CO2 Monitor & Controller: Automated, Wi-Fi-Connected Ventilation for Healthy Indoor Air

High carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in offices, homes, schools and farms cause fatigue, headaches, poor concentration and crop losses. VentPlus is India’s first automatic carbon dioxide monitor and ventilation controller — a precision NDIR CO2 meter that doesn’t just measure the air, it acts on it. Whether you need to lower CO2 in a packed meeting room or maintain CO2 in a mushroom farm or greenhouse, VentPlus keeps your air exactly where it should be — 24×7, hands-free.

Modern Indian buildings are sealed for thermal efficiency and noise insulation, which traps CO2 — a colorless, odorless gas — indoors. In a meeting room with 8–12 people, levels starting at 600–800 ppm can climb past 2,500 ppm within 60–90 minutes. In a closed bedroom, two sleepers push the air past 1,600 ppm by 3 AM. Without an active CO2 controller, these levels stay completely undetected.

What’s new: VentPlus is now a complete connected system — a Main Unit with a built-in fan socket, an optional Wi-Fi Relay Unit to drive a fan in another room over the internet, and a remote monitoring website that lets you watch live CO2, temperature, humidity and fan status from any phone or laptop. Full details are at ventplus.in.

Why Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Matters

In airtight buildings, indoor CO2 can quickly cross 1,500 ppm, triggering “Sick Building Syndrome” — headaches, eye irritation, dizziness, nausea and fatigue. CO2 is the primary indicator of ventilation adequacy: as it rises, cognitive performance can decline by 15% to 50%, directly affecting decisions, meetings, sleep and productivity. Keeping CO2 below 1,000 ppm with a reliable monitor and automatic controller keeps people sharp and spaces healthy.

CO2 ppm Reference Chart for Indoor Spaces

CO2 Level (ppm) Air Quality Impact on Health & Performance
400 – 600 Excellent Fresh outdoor air. Optimal for productivity and deep sleep.
600 – 1,000 Good ASHRAE & WHO recommended range for indoor spaces.
1,000 – 1,500 Moderate Reduced alertness, slower decision-making begins.
1,500 – 2,500 Poor Yawning, drowsiness, stagnant air.
2,500 – 4,000 Very Poor Stuffy feeling, significant cognitive impairment. Avoid prolonged exposure.
Above 4,000 Severe Breathing discomfort, fatigue, headache, nausea. Immediate ventilation needed.

Pro Tip: Most international standards
(ASHRAE Standard 62.1
and WHO Air Quality Guidelines)
recommend keeping indoor CO2 between 600 and 1,000 ppm for optimal health, productivity and cognition.

How the VentPlus CO2 Monitor & Controller Works

A simple, fully automatic cycle — set it once and forget it:

  1. Monitor: An industrial-grade NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) sensor measures CO2, temperature and humidity every few seconds, shown live on the large 128×64 LCD.
  2. Activate: When CO2 crosses your set threshold (default 1,000 ppm), VentPlus switches on your fan through the built-in AC socket. An optional beeper can alert at 1,500 ppm.
  3. Demand-controlled ventilation: Once fresh air restores CO2 to your lower limit (default 800 ppm), the fan switches off automatically — saving energy and keeping air-conditioning costs in check.

All thresholds are user-settable from the front panel (ESC, UP, DOWN, SEL keys). VentPlus delivers better air, better health, better decisions and better business.

The Complete VentPlus System

VentPlus is more than a wall sensor — it’s a connected ventilation-control system with three parts:

1. Main Unit — Sensor + Controller + Wi-Fi

The heart of the system. It houses the NDIR CO2 sensor, the temperature/humidity sensors, the large backlit LCD, the 4-key control panel, and a built-in AC socket (max 3A / 700W) on the left side. Plug your exhaust or fresh-air fan straight into this socket — no electrician, no wiring. The Main Unit also has Wi-Fi for data upload and for pairing with the optional Wi-Fi Relay.

2. Wi-Fi Relay Unit (optional add-on)

Need to control a fan in a different room from where the sensor sits? The Wi-Fi Relay Unit is a second AC socket (max 3A / 700W) that the Main Unit drives over the internet — the two devices do not need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. This makes VentPlus ideal for large buildings, multi-floor installations, and any setup where the sensor and the fan are far apart. It has a 3-position switch (AUTO / OFF / Manual ON), and one Main Unit pairs with one Wi-Fi Relay.

3. Remote Monitoring Website — Watch & Log From Anywhere

VentPlus continuously uploads live data to a secure remote-monitoring website you can open in any browser on desktop or mobile — no app to download:

Applications of the VentPlus CO2 Controller

VentPlus is built for the full range of Indian environments — from urban offices to agricultural farms to defense installations. A single unit covers roughly 100 sq m (about 1,200 sq ft) with moderate air circulation; larger or multi-room spaces simply use additional units, each controlling its own zone.

1. Offices, IT Parks & Co-working Spaces

Sealed HVAC offices, BPOs and co-working spaces let CO2 accumulate fast during meetings. VentPlus continuously tracks CO2 and triggers exhaust or fresh-air fans to hold ASHRAE-recommended air quality — cutting the post-lunch “2 PM slump”, headaches and absenteeism while lifting productivity. See the offices guide →

2. Homes, Apartments & Bedrooms

With the bedroom door shut for 8 hours, CO2 climbs from ~700 ppm at bedtime past 1,600 ppm by 3 AM — the groggy-morning feeling is the air, not just the sleep. VentPlus ventilates automatically and keeps the night fresh, quietly, with the windows still locked. See the homes guide →

3. Schools & Classrooms

Classrooms with 30+ students often exceed 2,500 ppm within an hour, hitting attention, learning and exam performance. VentPlus is an ideal classroom CO2 monitor for CBSE, ICSE and international schools, daycares and coaching institutes — a visible, measurable commitment to children’s health.

4. Mushroom Farm CO2 Controller (Oyster, Button, Shiitake, Milky)

Mushrooms are uniquely sensitive to CO2 — and unlike plants, they produce it. Each growth stage has a precise CO2 window:

Used in polyhouse mushroom farms, container farms and spawn rooms across India for oyster, button, milky and shiitake cultivation. As a bonus, the same screen shows temperature and humidity — three of the four critical mushroom parameters on one instrument. See the growers guide →

5. Greenhouse & Polyhouse CO2 Controller — Dual-Relay Enrichment

For plants, CO2 is food. In a closed greenhouse on a bright morning, a healthy crop can pull CO2 below outdoor levels within hours, stalling photosynthesis exactly when light is best. Holding the air at the enrichment sweet spot (~700–1,200 ppm) can raise yields by 20–30%.

For greenhouses, VentPlus uses two relays to keep CO2 inside your chosen range:

No wasted gas, no stressed crop — every limit is user-settable. Ideal for hi-tech polyhouses (tomato, capsicum, cucumber, lettuce), flower greenhouses, vertical farms and propagation chambers.

6. Hydroponic Grow Room & Grow Tent CO2 Controller

In a sealed grow room or tent, enriching CO2 to 1,000–1,500 ppm can lift yield 30%+ over ambient. VentPlus is plug-and-play — no PLC or HVAC controller needed — and drives a generator or cylinder solenoid to hold your target. Great for indoor leafy greens and herbs, vertical racks, tissue culture and horticulture R&D.

7. Hospitals, Clinics & Waiting Rooms

Crowded OPD waiting rooms, dental and physiotherapy clinics regularly exceed 2,000 ppm, raising infection risk and discomfort. ASHRAE recommends CO2-based demand-controlled ventilation in healthcare. VentPlus suits OPDs, IVF/fertility clinics, diagnostic centers, dialysis units and old-age homes.

8. Banquet Halls, Restaurants, Bars & Auditoriums

High-density venues can shoot from 600 to over 3,000 ppm within an hour. VentPlus discreetly monitors CO2 and triggers fresh-air or exhaust fans automatically — protecting guest comfort and your venue’s reputation across banquet halls, fine-dining, pubs, cinemas and seminar halls.

9. Gyms, Yoga Studios & Fitness Centers

A person exercising exhales up to 10× more CO2 than at rest; a group class can cross 3,000 ppm in 30 minutes. VentPlus activates exhaust fans during peak hours and switches them off when the room empties — better performance, no stuffy hot-yoga rooms, and energy saved.

10. Army Bunkers, Barracks & Defense Installations

Sealed bunkers, underground command posts and barracks are prone to dangerous CO2 buildup. VentPlus runs 24×7 and is already used in army bunkers and barracks to auto-activate ventilation whenever CO2 exceeds safe limits — protecting alertness and decision-making in critical operations.

11. Cold Storage, Food Warehouses & Confined Spaces

Cold stores and ripening chambers face two CO2 risks: worker safety in confined spaces, and controlled-atmosphere storage where CO2 must stay in range for produce. VentPlus monitors continuously and ventilates automatically — for reefer warehouses, CA storage rooms, ripening chambers and food-processing units.

12. Basement & Parking Ventilation

Basements, server rooms and underground parking collect CO2 from occupancy and vehicle exhaust. VentPlus monitors and triggers exhaust ventilation automatically to keep the air safe.

13. Poultry Farms, Cattle Sheds & Animal Housing

Closed and deep-litter poultry sheds trap CO2, ammonia and humidity that slow bird growth and raise mortality. VentPlus works as a poultry farm CO2 monitor and ventilation controller — automatically switching exhaust fans on when CO2 crosses your set limit and off once fresh air returns. It steadies air quality in broiler and layer sheds, hatcheries, brooder rooms, piggeries and dairy cattle sheds while saving fan energy.

Frequently Asked Questions about VentPlus CO2 Monitor & Controller

Does VentPlus need a professional electrician to install?

No. VentPlus is completely plug-and-play. Plug your exhaust or fresh-air fan into the AC socket on the left side of the Main Unit, set your thresholds with the front-panel buttons, and it starts working immediately. No wiring required.

What is a safe indoor CO2 level for homes and offices?

Per ASHRAE Standard 62.1 and WHO guidelines, CO2 should ideally stay between 600 and 1,000 ppm. Above 1,500 ppm indicates poor ventilation and causes fatigue, headaches and reduced concentration. VentPlus maintains this range automatically.

What is the Wi-Fi Relay Unit and do I need it?

It’s an optional add-on for controlling a fan in a different room from the Main Unit. It communicates with the Main Unit over the internet — they don’t need to share a Wi-Fi network. If your sensor and fan are in the same room, the Main Unit’s built-in AC socket is enough.

How does the remote monitoring work?

VentPlus uploads live data — CO2, temperature, humidity, local relay status and Wi-Fi relay status — to a secure remote-monitoring website over Wi-Fi. The site shows two live graphs (CO2 over time and fan ON/OFF history) and lets you download historic data as Excel. It works in any browser on desktop or mobile — no app required.

How large an area does one unit cover?

About 100 square metres (≈1,200 sq ft) with moderate air circulation. For larger or multi-room spaces, use multiple units — each monitors its own zone and controls ventilation independently. The optional Wi-Fi Relay extends control to a second fan in another room.

Can I set my own CO2 trigger levels?

Yes. Use the ESC, UP, DOWN and SEL keys to set Fan ON (default 1,000 ppm), Fan OFF (default 800 ppm) and beeper alert (default 1,500 ppm) to suit your space.

Can it be used for mushroom farms and greenhouses?

Yes. It’s widely used in mushroom farms to control CO2 at each growth stage, and in greenhouses to maintain enriched levels (~700–1,200 ppm). For greenhouses it uses two relays — one for a fresh-air fan and one for a CO2 generator/solenoid.

What type of CO2 sensor does VentPlus use?

An industrial-grade NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) sensor with a 400–5,000 ppm range and ±(50 ppm + 5% of reading) accuracy — the technology ASHRAE recommends for demand-controlled ventilation.
